Ravens in London

On September 24, 2017, at 1.30pm, the Ravens take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley. This will be the 18th London game since the NFL began its International Series in 2007 and the first of four London games this season.

The Jaguars have already played in London four times and are 2-2 in those games. They consider London to be their second home and will be the designated home team this year too. However, though there will be a lot of Jags jerseys in evidence, the London games are attended by fans of all NFL teams – as well as those who are simply curious about a new sport – and so there won’t be a strong pro-Jaguars atmosphere. In that sense, it’s very similar to a typical home game in Jacksonville.

In the week leading up to the game, we can expect some events for fans. Some will be organised by the NFL and the teams, others will be fan-led. I’ll give as much information about those as possible, as soon as anything is announced.

If you are going to the game, allow a little time to explore outside. There’s a small outlet mall next to the stadium, with some stores and a bunch of places to eat. These might be a cheaper and better option than eating and drinking inside the stadium but expect them to be crowded.

There will also be various fan experience events around the outside of the stadium. In previous years there has been the option to try some football skills, a display of memorabilia including Super Bowl trophies and a stand showing off NFL Game Pass highlights.

Merchandise from all 32 teams is available but there will be stalls devoted to the Jaguars and Ravens so there will be a good opportunity to stock up on team goodies.

If you can’t make it to Wembley then the game will be live on Sky and possibly on the BBC too. Previous games have been shown on both channels but this year’s schedules have yet to be announced.
