Ravens tickets on sale today

By this time next year, I hope to have a much more comprehensive guide on this website to visiting Ravens games as a UK fan. In fact, if you’ve been and want to share any tips then please do send them in.

Tickets for 2017 Ravens games go on sale this afternoon at 3pm (UK time) and, in the absence of a fuller guide, here are a couple of pointers if you are planning to buy today.

First, the tickets will sell-out fast so be online at 3pm, with everything ready to go. Have the ticket page open in your browser and if you don’t have a Ticketmaster account then sign up beforehand. As you’d probably expect, the big games will sell-out fastest – the obvious one being the game against the Steelers on October 1.

Second, if you do miss out on tickets today then don’t despair. There are plenty of resellers who will get you in – for a fee. You can also go to NFL Ticket Exchange, where season ticket holders will sell off the games they can’t, or don’t want to, go to. As with the resellers, however, you’ll pay for the privilege. If you want face value tickets, which start at $80, then today is the day to do it.

Finally, think ahead about where you want to sit. If money is no object then the Club level experience is really good – great views, comfortable seats and a nice indoor area with good food and various tidbits about Ravens history posted around the place. Behind the end zone, though not popular with American fans, provides a good atmosphere and a close-up view of any scores that happen nearby.

The cheapest seats will be way up the top of the stadium, which for a space-based game like the NFL has its own benefits. You get a good view of pass routes, coverages and how plays are developing – so don’t think you’ll have a bad experience if that’s where you end up.
